Ryan has chosen this plant as a top performer in the Wyndham area. Below are the features that make this plant so special he has his name on it.
Cyperus Papyrus

Ryan has chosen Cyperus Papyrus as his favourite plant this autumn because of its stunning architectural habit. Cyperus Papyrus is a stunning garden shrub growing to 2 metres in height with the ability to cover the same width. A spectacular sight with it's rigid, bright green canes and fluffy lime green heads. It is a tough number, adapting to a variety of situations including dry areas, boggy areas and can also be used as a pond plant. Fantastic when planted in garden beds and just as beautiful when used in pots. Easy to control if width is a problem, just remove unwanted canes at the base. This beautiful shrub deserves a place in every garden and its tough characteristics make Cyperus Papyrus a top performer any time of the year!
What's Flowering In Ryan's Garden In Autumn
Adenanthos Silver Streak
( Albany Woolly Bush)

A fast growing shrub ideal for screening and hedging. Growing 2 metres tall by 1.5 wide, Silver Streak has an upright, dense habit with silver-green foliage soft to the touch. Small Grevillea like orange flowers appear from spring to summer although they are mostly hidden by the foliage. This is a tough little native shrub well worth a place in any garden.
Arthropodium ( New Zealand Rock Lily)

Also known as the ‘New Zealand Rock Lily', Arthropodium is a beautiful plant with it's silver-green, broad, strappy foliage and large sprays of white or pink, small, lily-like flowers. A hardy, showy and compact plant that performs well in both shade and sun, but requires protection from snails and slugs. Arthropodium grows up to 1 metre with flower sprays of up to 30cm long.
Acacia cognate ‘Limelight'

A fantastic miniature Wattle grown for it's lush lime-green weeping foliage and compact shape. This shrub has grown more popular over the years due to public awareness of drought tolerant plants. Acacia Limelight grows approximately 80cm high by 80cm wide and makes an attractive feature when used in garden beds or pots and can even be used in Balinese and Japanese style gardens. Very hardy and performs best in full-sun to part-shade in very well-drained soil.
Pennisetum Burgundy
Pennisetum Burgundy has burgundy-red foliage about one inch wide and up to one metre long. A beautiful specimen with an upright arching habit and 30cm long foxtail-like flowers which are also a pale burgundy. Unlike other Pennisetum varieties, this one is sterile so you won't get them popping up in the garden in unwanted places. Great as a specimen planting, and as equally showy in pots.
