Initially the flower comes out a deep shade of purple, then fades to a light shade the next day, until it is almost a white/mauve colour. Brunsfelsia's grow well in warmer climates, flowering most of the year. Where temperatures plummet to below 10 degrees at night, they are best treated as a deciduous shrub in winter. They are best in a frost free area. In cold climates, a north facing brick wall will provide enough protection if planted within 1m of the brick wall. On warm evenings the perfume from the flowers fills the air. It can be used as a sceening plant to 2m high by 1.2m wide. Best in full sun, but will tolerate full shade.
Brunsfelsia are poisonous to dogs if they ingest it. Best not plant one if you have a puppy that likes to chew.
